Hutchins on Robinson and Baines

Wigan - Chris HutchingsWigan Athletic manager Chris Hutchins is confident that Paul Robinson is keen to join the club.

The West Bromwich Albion left-back is desperate to play Premier League football once again and is said to have had a medical yesterday in a deal worth £1.5million.

Sunderland have also been linked with a move for the rugged defender, but it looks as if Hutchins has won the race.

Everton complete Pienaar loan deal

Stephen PienaarEverton have completed the signing of South African midfielder Stephen Pienaar on a twelve month loan deal.

The 25-year-old will join Everton from Borussia Dortmund, subject to a work permit after failing to make an impact in the Bundesliga.

Everton in Vogel talks?

Johann VogelSwitzerland international Johann Vogel is the latest player to be linked with a move to Everton.

The 30-year-old midfielder is available on a free transfer from Spanish side Real Betis and is set to hold talks with David Moyes over a possible move to Goodison Park.

Vogel has won 89 caps for his country and has previously played for PSV Eindhoven and Italian giants AC Milan.

Everton fail in defender bid

Everton - David MoyesEverton have failed in their bid to sign AC Milan defender Dario Simic.

His agent Marco Naletilic claimed that Everton and Marseille were interested in signing the Croatian international, but Milan have insisted that he is not for sale.

Simic has failed to hold down a regular first-team place with the Italian side over the past couple of years and looks like he’ll continue to warm the bench again next season.

Moyes moans about car

Everton - David MoyesDavid Moyes is reportedly upset with the Everton board after they rejected his request to have a new Mercedes car.

The ginger Scotsman argued that the fact that Andy van der Meyde has a Ferrari, even though he is not a first-team regular, but his plea was snubbed by his bosses.

Moyes: It’s hard with less money

Everton - David MoyesEverton boss David Moyes remains determined to bring in some new faces, but admits that his chances of signing players has been damaged by some of the big money spending.

Tottenham, Liverpool, Manchester United and even Portsmouth have already been spending big ahead of next season, while Everton have so far only spent £4million on Phil Jagielka from Sheffield United.

“I think there has been some irresponsible buying and spending by some clubs, and it makes it a bit more difficult if you’ve got less money to spend than that,” Moyes told the club’s official website.
