Leighton Baines is set to undergo a medical at Everton after a fee was agreed with Wigan Athletic.
The England Under-21 international recently rejected the opportunity to move to Premiership newcomers Sunderland, but is keen on a move to Everton, the club he supported as a boy.
The 22-year-old will now discuss personal terms with David Moyes’ side. The fee for Baines is said to be in the region of £6million.
